Have A Custom Icon Painted Just For You!

The icons shown on this website are generally not for sale. But for yourself or for a very special gift, I can paint a special icon of a beloved saint or other favorite sacred subject.

Since iconography is a slow and thoughtful process, it will take several months to complete. In addition, I often have a backlog of several months.

A 50 percent down payment is required. Price will vary according to the size and complexity of the icon. For a typical half-figure on a 9-1/2-inch x 12-1/2 inch board, price would be $500 plus shipping. I do not accept credit cards, but will accept Pay Pal or personal checks.

Please contact me to discuss subject, price, and delivery.

High-quality Archival (Giclee-type) Limited Edition Photographic Prints On Heavy Paper

Most of the high-quality photographs in the icon galleries on this website are the work of my friend Richard Anderson of San Francisco.

If you are interested in obtaining one of his prints, please contact me and your message will be relayed to him.

Prices are similar to those for giclee prints from other sources, and reflect the many hours Richard has spent perfecting his lighting and photographic techniques, and preparing and printing these archival reproductions.

Richard waits for an overcast day to photograph the icons, because that is the only light which produces accurate color reproduction - studio light doesn't work well. When preparing to print, he works with the original icon beside him to ensure color accuracy. He uses pigment-based inks on beautiful heavy paper, and the resulting colors are extraordinarily vivid and faithful to the original egg tempera colors.

Because the paper is so appealing, we have found it most effective to frame these prints without a mat. When you present the print for framing, ask the framer to place a white spacer between the print and the glass for a slight "shadow box" effect. This looks really attractive, and you will avoid the cost of a custom acid-free mat.

50 percent down payment is required. Shipping and handling are not included in prices below.

Framed Prints Of Selected Icons Available Locally

25 of Richard Anderson's archival prints were in our 2008 show at Gallery 1055, in the Diocesan House of the Episcopal Diocese of San Francisco, adjacent to Grace Cathedral, 1055 Taylor Street, San Francisco, California. The show then moved to St. Gregory of Nyssa Church and then to Calvary Presbyterian Church, San Francisco.

These prints have been attractively and professionally framed by the Paul Mahder Gallery, using natural wood frames in a red-brown color which complements the colors of the icons. A few of these prints are still available for purchase.

Large framed prints are $375; medium framed prints are $300; plus costs of shipping and handling if required.

Packing a framed print for shipping could prove expensive. If you live outside the San Francisco Bay Area, it is most cost-effective to purchase an unframed print and make your own arrangements for framing.
